Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of College Essay Embassy's fit calls and membership. By booking a call or subscribing, you agree to them.

What this service is

College Essay Embassy is independent essay coaching for college applicants. We help you organize your school list, prompts, and deadlines, and give feedback on essays you write yourself. We are not an admissions consulting service, we do not write or rewrite essays on your behalf, and we do not guarantee admission to any school.

You are the author

Every essay submitted for feedback must be your own original work. Advisor feedback is limited to questions, structure, and language suggestions through Google Docs comments and suggested edits, you decide what to accept, reject, or revise, and you submit the final version to your schools yourself.

Membership

• The membership is billed monthly at the price shown at checkout (a founding-member discount, when active, is clearly marked).
• It includes one dedicated advisor, a private Trello board, Google Docs feedback, two 30-minute calls per billing period, and one active request at a time. A standard request is a draft or revision up to 750 words.
• Feedback on a standard active request is targeted within two business days of the request having everything it needs and moving to "In review." This is a response-time target, not a guarantee that your essay will be finished by then.
• You can cancel anytime before your next billing date, see our Cancellation Policy.

Fit calls

Booking a fit call through Calendly does not create a membership or any payment obligation. It is a conversation to see whether the membership is a good fit.

What's out of scope

We do not write essays, guarantee admission, handle school selection or overall admissions strategy, or submit applications on your behalf. If you also work with Alton Education's admissions consulting service, that relationship is separate from this one.

Acceptable use

Don't use this service to submit plagiarized or fabricated material, misrepresent who wrote an essay, or attempt to have us impersonate you in any official application process.

Liability

The service is provided as coaching and feedback only. We are not responsible for admissions decisions, application outcomes, or deadlines missed due to circumstances outside our control.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
